FRENCH AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Students in America fall behind the rest of the industrialized world when it comes to mastering a second language. In today’s global society, it’s more important than ever for our children to become bi-lingual.  European Academy of Bright Stars, LLC (“EABS") now offers the French After School Program (“FASP”)  --  a fun way for your child to master the basics of a second language.

 

FASP is an engaging interactive program based on the latest learning methods used in Belgian classrooms to teach French as a second language to 5th and 6th graders. Vocabulary and verbs are taught using flash cards and games. With overlapping daily practice using poems, songs, listening exercises and role-play, there is no need for extra study or homework.

 

Daily Immersion for Maximum Reinforcement

 

Classes are given Monday through Friday on all regularly held school days, based on the Denton ISD calendar. No classes will be held on scheduled holidays or when public school is cancelled due to inclement weather or for any other reason.

 

Parents are encouraged to enroll their child for the full course in order for their child to receive the most benefit.

 

Mastery of Basics – Something to Talk About!

 

The FASP program is designed as a yearlong course, divided up into trimesters. By the end of the year, students should be able to:

• count in French

• master essential vocabulary

• master basic grammar including masculine/feminine; definite/indefinite articles; plurals; adjective placement; possessive adjectives; negation; and prepositions

• conjugate some regular and irregular verbs in simple present tense

• be able to describe themselves, their age, what they look like and what they like to wear, the date, the time, the weather, forms of transportation, their address, their home, and their hobbies

 

All Materials Provided

 

Each student will receive all course materials including a binder, worksheets and a personal curriculum. Materials will remain at EABS each day – nothing for your child to remember to bring! Please note: the binder and all class materials are the property of EABS and may not be reproduced or used outside the classroom without express written consent of EABS.

 

At the end of each trimester, students will receive a report card. Upon satisfactory completion of the entire year (3 trimesters), students will receive a Certificate of Completion issued by European Academy of Bright Stars, LLC.
